CAMP AGUDAH STAFF APPLICATIONS

Dear Applicant,

Please complete the staff application and return to our office.

You will be notified as to when your interview will take place.

Camp requires you to complete a police check and submit it to the office immediately upon acceptance.

*Please note that there is a fee for all junior staff excluding lifeguards and day camp counsellors as per the chart below. A cheque for the fees (refundable if you do not attend camp) must accompany the application.

  • Camp season – Friday, June 26th – Wednesday, July 22nd.
  • Staff begins tentatively Thursday, June 25th 2020. Details will follow upon acceptance.

There are many wonderful specialty positions to be filled.

Please be sure you apply for at least 3 main positions.

i.e. lifeguards, ropes, sports, baking, ceramics, day camp counsellor, arts & crafts, photography, videographer, lake sign in, boating, pioneering

Please be sure you check off other ways you can add to camp i.e. tech, office (see list on application form).

Please be aware that each applicant is applying as an individual. Partners/co-workers will be determined by the Director.

    All staff must be in camp the day before for an intensive orientation on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
    Staff must complete a police check.
    STAFF 18 AND OVER MUST GET A POLICE BACKGROUND CHECK AND SUBMIT A COPY TO CAMP OF THE RESULTS PRIOR TO CAMP. STAFF UNDER 18 MUST BRING A SIGNED PARENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT LETTER CONFIRMING NO NEGATIVE POLICE RECORD.

  • Camp Agudah must have the above information to be able to pay you. You must submit a TD1 for Canadians. A Waiver 102/ITN for non Canadians must be submitted by May 6, 2020. No Waivers will be accepted after that date. The tax waiver must be approved by the Canadian Revenue Agency. Americans are subject to a withholding tax of 15%. If you have received an ITN number it needs to be submitted on the 102 waiver to the office. Forms are on the campagudahtoronto.com website.
  • You must buy health insurance available through our website that covers you in Ontario, Canada. YOUR REGULAR HEALTH INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER YOU IN CANADA.

  • 1. YOU MUST BUY HEALTH INSURANCE THAT COVERS YOU IN ONTARIO, CANADA FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.
    2. "ALL STAFF" MUST WEAR LONG PANTS- UNTIL THE ANKLES, THE ENTIRE DAY, even during sports and leagues, and color war. Unless the Rav says that it's too hot. Tee shirts with short sleeves are allowed during sports (with appropriate wording or pictures). During davening and learning, button down shirts must be worn with your "proper" hat and jacket.
    3. All waiters and kitchen staff must attend a shiur by Rav Schuster. Attendance will be taken.
  • If I am a counsellor or J.C. I will leave my cabin neat. If not, up to $50 will be deducted or charged to me. Bonuses will also be given for neat bunks.
  • As we end near Rosh Chodesh Elul, it is extremely important to know whether you can stay the entire time. CAT must know even if there is a "chance" that you'll be attending a different Yeshiva in Elul that may keep you from staying the whole season.

  • By signing this form, I affirm that all the above is true including not smoking, drinking, and not using technology with video or internet capability, or not ingesting any mind altering substance. Obviously I will not supply the above.
  • All salaries are paid in Canadian funds with tax taken off approx 15%. You may receive the 15% tax back by filling out the appropriate documents.
  • Job Suggestions: Counsellor, J.C., Learning Rebbi, Gr. 12 or equivalent pay $350. Learning Rebbi 1st year Bais Medrash pay $250.; rotating counsellor pay $350 -, Lifeguard (only Canadian certified), Arts & Crafts, Kitchen help, Busboy, Ropes, Cocoa club head, Leagues commissioner, Videos, Head of staff Bais Hamedrash, Canteen, Office, Boat driver, Minshnayos head, Yearbook editor, Driver (21 at least), Vekker, O.D., Sports equipment, Handyman.
    Waiter pays $800.00 total - $600.00 fee to camp + $200. Cash tipping in camp to 4 people in the kitchen. All above camp fees are 13% hst taxable.
    If accepted as a Learning Rebbe or rotating counsellor and you also accept the job of a ropes counsellor the fee will be waived and you will receive a salary for being a ropes counsellor as well.
  • I understand that during learning groups if I am not tutoring I will be learning in one of the 3 Batei Midrashim learning for at least one hour during learning groups even during color war. Junior staff and kitchen staff (Grade 12) must attend Rav Schuster's shiur.
  • BY ACCEPTING A JOB IN CAMP AGUDAH TORONTO , WHETHER OR NOT I SIGN THE CONTRACT, BREAKING THE ABOVE RULES IS A CAUSE FOR DISMISSAL FROM CAMP.
